Spokane has long been perceived as a large “small town” with a Mayberry-like quality of life. It is a great place to raise families.

Spokane County led Washington state in job growth last year, with 10,000 new jobs. Forbes Magazine listed Spokane as the 20th best place to do business in the nation. The region has finally been discovered.

All of this growth brings both tremendous opportunities and serious challenges. With land prices more than doubling within the last five years, home prices have increased significantly.

Spokane REALTORS® know we must plan wisely for growth to ensure and protect the Quality of Life we enjoy here and the American Dream of homeownership for our residents.

For that reason, REALTORS® helped form the Spokane Affordable Homeownership Task Force— a consortium of the building, real estate, non-profit, and government communities— to collaborate on solutions for the Spokane region's looming housing affordability crisis. Following are the studies and reports that have come out of this yearlong effort:
